Cefpodoxime is active against broad
spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Cefpodoxime is stable in
the presence of beta-lactamase enzymes compare to other antibiotic,but not
fully stable.so we have to given cefpodoxime + clavulanic acid.
Cefpodoxime is transpeptidase enzyme inhibitor.it cause inhibit the transpeptidation reaction and block cross-linking of the cell wall.so bacterial cell wall is destroy.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE OF CEFPODOXIME:
(This is ideal dose for your knowledge.Do not
take without consult your DOCTOR or PHARMACIST)
ADULT dose of cepodoxime : 200 mg orally
twice a day
Child dose of cefpodoxime : 5 mg/kg/dose orally twice a day
