ATENOLOL MECHANISM OF ACTION :
Atenolol is a cardioselective beta-blocker, which relax blood vessels and reduce heart rate.
Atenolol is a cardio-selective beta-blocker effects on the heart. which are work by preventing norepinephrine (adrenalin) from acting on beta receptors in blood vessels and in the heart.so result blood vessels are relaxing. By relaxing s help to lower the heart rate and decrease the heart’s demand for oxygen.so decrease blood pressure and reduce chest pain.
Atenolol shows some effects on the respiratory system by β2 receptors in the airways.so atenolol can produce bronchoconstriction by blocking the relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle .
