USES:
Fluconazole used

Fluconazole
is used to prevent fungal infection in people who have a weak immune system
caused by cancer treatment, bone marrow transplant, treatment of AIDS.
MECHANISM:
Fluconazole is an azole
class antifungal medicine.
Fluconazole is a lanosterol 14-α-demethylase enzyme inhibitor.
lanosterol 14-α-demethylase
enzyme works to convert lanosterol to ergosterol in fungus. which is necessary for fungal cell
wall synthesis.
By 14-α-demethylase enzyme
inhibition fluconazole interrupt conversion of lanosterol to
ergosterol and disrupt of fungal membranes.which inhibit fungal growth.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE OF:

fluconazile dose for adults:
150 mg orally as a single dose
Fluconzole dose for children: (6 months to 12
years)
